Annabeth Rosen - Q3 Awareness

Annabeth Rosen was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1957. Her sculptures and drawings explore the complex history of ceramics while introducing modern interpretations into her work. She specifically confronts the relationship between painterly surfaces and sculptural forms through her use of clay, slip, and glaze. She received her BFA from Alfred University and her MFA from Cranbook Academy of Art. She has held the Robert Arneson Endowed Chair at the University of California Davis since 1997 and has taught at School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Rhode Island School of Design, Tyler School of Art, and Bennington college. She's received a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, a Pew Fellowship, two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, several UC Davis Research Grants, and a Joan Mitchell Award for Painting and Sculpture. Currently, her work is in the collection of the LA County Museum of Art, The Oakland Museum of Art, the Denver Art Museum, the Everson Museum, as well as other private and public collections throughout the United States.
