Reflection on Noelani Jones Lecture

I really enjoyed this lecture. I thought that her use of unconventional materials was really interesting and I was impressed by how many of her materials she produces herself. I thought it was interesting how consistent her work was, because a lot of other artists explore different medias but all of her work is very similar. I appreciate the fact that she's found something that she enjoys enough to spend this much time on. I really enjoyed hearing about her time at VCU and the struggle to find something that really resonated with her, because it's important to realize how many different options there are in art and how difficult it is to choose. I was excited to learn about the different kinds of looms and the flexibility of the materials that she used. I also didn't realize that there were that many residency opportunities there were around the Virginia area. Overall, I thought she was really interesting and it was fun to hear from a fiber artist.
