I continued to darken the arm of the figure then moved across the torso to add more detail. The additional detail made the folds that I was previously worried about look more natural, but I still think I need to work on proportions to make it look even more convincing. I decided to leave the plant as a contour, partly because it's easier, but also because it adds an interesting element to the piece. I felt like the darker parts of the piece really add depth as I continue to layer charcoal.
